Ranks #22–100, In Brief
Below the 90 OVR Club, ratings step down gradually: Jamal Murray sits at 89, a cluster of Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby, Deni Avdija, and Austin Reaves at 88, and a large group at 87 that includes Trae Young, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and rookie Cooper Flagg. Most of the rest of the list runs through the 84–86 range into the 50s and 60s, then settles into the low-to-mid 80s from around rank #70 down to #100, which closes with Walker Kessler at 81 OVR. The full rank-by-rank list is on 2K's official Top 100 Player Ratings page — worth checking directly, since 2K has said these OVRs "will fluctuate based on real performances" through the 2026-27 season.
What Is Confirmed: The Badge System
53 total badges, 19 of which are brand new this year, with 6 removed from NBA 2K26's list. All 19 new badges are officially named: Set and Fire, Arc Cadence, Static Middy, Smooth Operator, and Quick Trigger (Shooting); Post Spin Catalyst and Ghost Stepper (Finishing); Pace (Playmaking); Wall Up, Ankle Braces, and Seatbelt (Defense); Crasher, Possession Closer, Sync Snatcher, Boxout Boss, and Breaker (Rebounding); and Work Horse, Flash, and Bruiser (Physicals). See our Badges page for what each one does.
Cover Athletes, for Context
The three confirmed cover athletes are Victor Wembanyama (Standard Edition), Caitlin Clark (Deluxe Edition), and Derrick Rose (Ultra Edition). This Top 100 list is explicitly NBA-only ("ranks the best NBA players in NBA 2K27"), so it doesn't cover WNBA ratings like Clark's. Wembanyama is confirmed at #2 (97 OVR); Rose is not in the confirmed top 100.
Rookie Ratings
2K hasn't published a rookie-specific ratings list separate from the main Top 100. Cooper Flagg, the consensus #1 pick of the 2025 NBA Draft, is confirmed at 87 OVR (rank #37) — the highest rookie rating visible in the confirmed portion of the list.
