The Fire & Concrete Story
The story begins with your MyPLAYER as a top high school prospect committed to Duke — until a serious car accident puts your future in doubt. The narrative resumes two years later at a newly-recreated Rucker Park, your initial proving ground, where your cousin Cam (voiced and motion-captured by Vince Staples) accompanies you from the streets of New York all the way to the NBA as a central figure in your off-court life. 2K says the full cinematic story spans 11 chapters, more than double the length of NBA 2K26's story.
From Rucker Park to the NBA Draft
Unlike a fixed draft slot, your performance determines whether you earn the No. 1 overall pick — you can also manually pick your team regardless of where you're drafted, or skip straight to your rookie season if you'd rather get to the NBA immediately. After the prelude, the story transitions into your rookie year; finishing year one unlocks eight new Key Game sets in your second season, each covering roughly half a season across six games with narrative content built around them.
Running Mate: Co-op in MyCAREER, for the First Time
For the first time in the series, you can invite a friend to play directly through your MyCAREER story as your Running Mate — a custom teammate named Trace Miller, met in the G League, who stays with you through your entire NBA career. When Trace is introduced, you choose from 9 build templates based on NBA stars: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Cade Cunningham, Stephen Curry, Luka Dončić, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, Donovan Mitchell, Nikola Jokić, and Kawhi Leonard. Co-op is optional and game-by-game — your friend controls Trace as you've built him, both of you earn your own full VC and Season XP, and the AI takes over Trace if your friend logs off.
Rucker Park in Street Kings
Beyond the MyCAREER story, Rucker Park is one of three confirmed Street Kings courts, alongside The Hollows and Claremont Court. Street Kings is a 3v3 mode where you and up to two friends battle CPU bosses across 40 levels of rewards, including the cosmetics and apparel the mode is known for.
